Towering 53 meters over the Niagara Falls Horizon, the all-new "Niagara Skywheel" delivers magnificent views of both the Horseshoe and American Falls.

The Butterfly Conservatory:

This magical attraction features over 2,000 colourful tropical butterflies floating freely among lush, exotic blossoms and greenery. Paths wind through the rainforest setting, past a pond and waterfall and the emergency window, where butterflies leave their pupae and prepare to take their first flight!

Many of our butterflies are imported from tropical regions around the world. Approximately 60% of our butterflies come from butterfly farms in Costa Rica, El Salvador and The Philippines. Another 40% are raised in a quarantined greenhouse that is located behind the conservatory.

Butterflies may land on you because they are attracted to your scent or to the colours that you are wearing. Do not be afraid, they cannot harm you. Butterflies will usually fly away within a few minutes.

Journey Behind the Falls:

The sound is like thunder, the sight awe-inspiring! Take a journey deep below and behind the heart of Niagara and stand in the mist where the mighty Horseshoe Falls tumbles from 13 stories above! Journey Behind the Falls is a very special place during the winter months. The mist of the Falls freezes in spectacular ice formations on every tree and building. Viewing the Falls in winter should not be missed! Your Journey Behind the Falls visit will take 30 to 45 minutes. Elevators descend 150 feet through bedrock to tunnels that lead to the Cataract Portal and the Great Falls Portal which is one third of the way behind the massive sheet of water, then on to the Upper and Lower Observation Decks at the foot of the Falls.
